Eight-time Grammy award winner Chris Stapleton has announced on social media that fans will be seeing a new Monday Night Football Anthem this evening. Collaborating with mega-stars Snoop Dogg and Cindy Blackman Santana, tonight on ESPN the trio will hit the stage to perform a reimagining of the Phil Collins classic “In The Air Tonight”.
The new Monday Night Football anthem is comprised of Stapleton covering Collins’ lyrics, with Snoop Dogg, in his signature style adding football-centric verses and Cindy Blackman Santana, a powerhouse on the drums, rocking the song’s iconic drum break and bringing her own style an accents do this iconic song.
“In The Air Tonight” will begin the broadcasts of the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints game on ESPN at 6:15 p.m. CST and the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns on ABC at 7:15 p.m. CST. And for the rest of the season, Monday Night Football will play the song ahead of the games.
