Ashley Anne Exposes Infidelity On New Song, ‘She Ain’t Texas’ (Review)
“How long have you been seeing her?!” Ashley Anne asks in her new song. “She Ain’t Texas,” produced by Owen Lewis, depicts the flaming out of a relationship brought on by a home-wrecking mistress. Anne’s words flicker like a candle’s wavering flame with her voice burning red hot.
“Won’t lie, I ain’t surprised that you’re cheating on me,” she continues. She confronts the truth, allowing her heart’s pain to seep into the record with intense clarity. Anne unthreads her heartstrings through a contemplative downtempo that will surely knock the listener for a loop.
“She ain’t a fun time honky-tonker,” she sings. The images are sharp, glistening beneath a rays of electric guitar and drums. “So if she ain’t country, she ain’t your cup of sweet tea.” Anne delivers her performance with both frailty and command – finding catharsis in revealing such vulnerable truths.

“She Ain’t Texas” follows “Dear Dolly” and “Fake Tan,” both released earlier this summer.
