Restless Road Wash Away The Pain With Moving ‘Roll Tide Roll’ (Review)

Zach Beeken, Garrett Nichols, and Colton Pack sit on the beach, contemplating life and heartache. Known as Restless Road, the country trio watch as the tides nearly wash the pain away. Or that’s what they hope in their new song “Roll Tide Roll.”

“Wash the pain right out my soul,” they sing with tightly-wound harmonies. Each word pierces the heart, anchored with a smooth, crystal-clear vocal performance. Waves crash behind them, as seagulls guffaw overhead. And it’s never a distraction to the pain coursing in their chests. “I don’t want to miss her no more / But I can’t help it,” they sing in the chorus.

Later, the bridge cuts even deeper: “The missing her just comes in waves / And the memories won’t drift away / And I can’t go home / So I guess I’ll stay..”

“Roll Tide Roll” (co-written by Beeken, Nichols, and Kyle Sturrock) is the latest offering from the band’s forthcoming debut long-player, Last Rodeo, expected everywhere October 20. It follows “I Don’t Want to Be That Guy,” “On My Way,” and “Growing Old With You.” The record, boasting a bold 18 tracks, features songwriting contributions from Charles Kelley, Ben Hayslip, Jordan Schmidt, Josh Kear, and Cole Swindell, among others.

Listen to “Roll Tide Roll” below.

Restless Road is poised for global domination. To their credit, they’ve snagged a No. 1 on Sirius XM’s The Highway and garnered 200 million streams across their catalog. That would have been unfathomable just a few short years ago.

“If you would have told us a few years ago that we would be where we are today, we wouldn’t have believed you,” the band shares in a press statement. “We’ve been through so many ups and downs as a band, and that’s what this is about – never giving up and always keeping your eyes on the road. It’s about believing in yourself even when people tell you no and persevering until your dreams become a reality. And that’s why the three of us are so excited for the biggest thing we’ve done yet.”
