Countrypolitan Artist To Watch: Chase Wright Declares His Love On ‘I Don’t Think That I Could Love You’ (Review)

With a flutter in his chest, Chase Wright finds himself hypnotized by his lover’s touch. It’s unexplainable, really. “I Don’t Think That I Could Love You” erupts from his lungs, as he declares his love with unwavering honesty.

Co-written with Brent Morgan and Josh Kelly, the mid-tempo jam seduces with the kind of love that makes you do wild, unruly things. “I never thought that I could love like this / Got me hooked on the dopamine of just one kiss,” sings Wright over a sweet R&B swirl. “No one else could ever make me feel this way  / I’m sure, I don’t think that I could love you any more than I do right now.”

Electric guitars screech in the background in almost a call-and-response way. Wright pours it on thick, his voice never sounding so compelling and caramel. “It’s strange how I know exactly what you mean,” he sings.

Listen to “I Don’t Think That I Could Love You” below.

Originally from Indiana, Wright grew up listening to the likes of Keith Urban, Goo Goo Dolls, and Matchbox Twenty. His musical stylings certainly combine all three, resulting in a genre-bending mix to great effect. Wright’s journey began as early as five years old when he sang at a 9/11 memorial. He later picked up the trumpet when he was six. Music just runs in his blood.

Greatly inspired by such artists as Sam Hunt, Wright began teaching himself guitar during his college days. Then working in the corporate world, he quickly realized that it wasn’t working out – he felt drained and unfulfilled. So, he quit. After college, he really began honing his live performance skills and attending an ASCAP songwriting workshop. And the rest is history.
