Spencer Crandall Reloads ‘Didn’t Do’ With Cooper Alan (Review)
As part of his Western Reloaded project, Spencer Crandall pulls the trigger on a collaboration with Cooper Alan for an updated “Didn’t Do.” Originally off his 2022 release, Western, the refreshed rendition injects renewed energy into the song’s risk-taking lyrics.
“Sometimes I catch myself living like I’ll never die / I’ll be down here forever, that I’ll get another try,” sings Crandall in the opening verse. Such an admission serves as the backbone of the sunny, horizon-cresting anthem. Before drums dip into the arrangement, there’s a sliver of hope and enthusiasm soaking the story. Crandall’s voice has never sounded so sweet, so smooth, so addicting.
Alan’s voice rings in the second verse, as he vows to “tell the people that I love that I love them right on here,” he sings. “We ain’t promised tomorrow / So the biggest risk that I take is playing it safe so.”
Instead, the duo promises to “give my heart away like it ain’t gonna break,” they sing, voices tangling together. “Let someone in even if it ends / Rather end up penniless, chasing my bucket list…”
“Didn’t Do” (co-written with Haley Mae Campbell and Lydia Dall) closes in on three million streams. It’s already a bonafide hit, and the collaboration will surely take it to even greater heights.

Western, which features the streaming monster “Girls Like You” (10 million streams and counting), is “a piece of my heart,” he said during the promotion of the record. “It’s my diary about the human condition and what it looks like to voraciously chase your dreams with no plan B. I couldn’t be more excited to have the whole project out, and my biggest hope is that Western finds people wherever they may be on their journey and helps them with whatever obstacles they’re going through.”
Crandall’s Western Reloaded also includes a collaboration with Shaylen, stripped versions of “Made” and “Girls Like You,” and a remixed version of “Girls Like You” (courtesy of NIIKO x SWAE).
