Caleb Seth Goes For A “Ride” (Review)
Caleb Seth shows no signs of slowing down. The vibey “Ride” clips on the heels of Seth’s debut, “West Tennessee,” and proves he’s got the chops to compete with the best of ‘em. As is his way, he fuses pop and R&B with a little bit of rock – hear that guitar solo?!
“I caught her leaning back on my truck door,” he sings over a thick, kick-back beat. “I know I’ve seen those curves at a tailgate before / Know she’s seen me when I pulled up / Just my luck, she likes my truck / I bet she wanna go on a ride with me.”
Co-written with James McKinnie Jr., “Ride” could be a Sam Hunt b-side. It’s perfectly primed for late-afternoon drives in the countryside, the breeze in your hair. “I got them speakers knockin’, and I got them windows down,” he sings, cruising down sweeping highways and emerald-topped hills. Sometimes, you just need to feel good, and Seth has you totally covered.

Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, Seth calls Boyz 2 Men and Michael Jackson among his biggest influences. His experience – which includes playing keys for a touring group at the University of Memphis – serves him well. He didn’t finish school, but that’s quite alright. He’s already cultivated thousands of adoring fans and is now signed to Grey Area Music.
