Jelly Roll Releases New Single “she” & Partners with Non-Profit Shatterproof
In an effort to raise awareness about the addiction crisis, country crossover artist Jelly Roll has released her new track titled “she.”.
He doesn’t shy away from discussing his past. Having been incarcerated in the past, the singer-songwriter is a reformed drug dealer. In his latest single, “Son Of A Sinner,” he has risen to the top of the country radio charts.
In country music, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a “story” song, and that’s exactly what “she” delivers. Taking a look from the outside perspective, Jelly Roll tells the story of a woman who is slipping into addiction. It’s one of the most poignant songs he’s released yet, especially the second verse which beautifully captures the terror that comes with watching a loved one struggle.
He sings, “I don’t wanna say goodbye / But she can’t get herself to stop / I know that it’ll take some time / But I’m scared that might be something that we don’t got.”
With this release, Jelly Roll teams up with Shatterproof, a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating addiction and its devastating consequences.
