1883, the prequel to Yellowstone, premiered on Paramount+ December 19 and set a record.
On Sunday, 1883 became the most-watched original show on Paramount+, according to a press release.
It was Nielsen’s biggest new cable series premiere since Into The Badlands and The Walking Dead respectively in 2015. The premiere drew 4.9 million total viewers in Live+Same Day, more than doubling the previous record.
“The results of 1883’s debut are truly phenomenal,” stated Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer, ViacomCBS Streaming. “The day 1 streaming numbers coupled with the results of the linear sampling effort, and social response from our audience show the tremendous promise for this series.”
