BTS Releases “Butter” Remix Featuring Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion took part in BTS‘ remix of “Butter,” contributing a breezy verse that references Stevie Wonder and Hubba Bubba gum.

Smooth like cocoa butter/My drip more than a puddle,” she raps. “They know that I’m the wave/Take over every summer.”

In May, BTS released RM’s song “Butter,” which was co-written by Jenna Andrews, Ron Perry, and others. On Spotify alone, it has racked up over 500 million streams; it has also reached the Top 15 at U.S. pop radio. Before Megan Thee Stallion recorded her version of “Butter,” BTS released three remixes of the song.

Though the “Butter” remix features lighthearted rapping, it is not without controversy. In the past week, Megan Thee Stallion claimed to have been blocked from releasing the track by her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.
